I'm fairly certain there are a _bunch_ of differences between
jabberoo and MacJLib ;) I'm the "jabber" guy on a Windows project at
work and Max (Fingolfin) and I are the authors of MacJLib. MacJLib is
getting an overhaul of it's XML tag handling system in the near
future (hopefully this weekend, but it's seeming more and more like I
won't be around to do so).

MacJLib compiles under ANSI Strict so I imagine it's only the
Mac-specific calls that would make moving it to different platforms
difficult (obviously). Luckily those are fairly isolated, the UTF-8
support (for PowerPC machines -- I think the 68k is straight code)
and the memory allocation (but those use #defines to use either Mac
or ANSI calls).

Maybe I'll yank jabberoo soon and try a compile, see how Mac friendly
it is... I imagine the biggest problem is libsigc++
