[JDEV] java clients

Dear Philippe, the differences seem really confusing.
enigma2=e2. e2 used the Java Media Framework which had to be installed
separately for video/audio
conferencing (which worked really fine), the last version was 128. e2
and e3 use the GPL license.
e3 is the successor to e2 and uses no jmf, is webstartable, can stream
only audio and has a much improved look and many other features, like
triggers (input->response, chatter says "hi" your client says "ho") and
F1 for help and a svg presentation center and much more. A real overkill
for most older machines with very few ram. It needs a constant restart
after two hours or so, because the tinyxml parser used in e3 holds the
complete stream tag in memory, which can become quite big.
the latest client of the enigma sequel is "GreenThumb" for PDAs. It has
pretty nothing in common with enigma, but is a successor anyway.
GreenThumb will be available for private testing by the end of this
week, of course i will notify the list.
Best regards,
ulrich
