This has a bunch of Python stuff and is definitely workable.
It has several classes for parsing the jabber protocol, etc.

Yeah, don't get this stuff :) Use the stuff on Sourceforge.
I know someone is using pyjama (the python Jabber stuff) as a basis for a
client so they are definitely working and moderatly up to date ;)
