IMHO, sending bold text is not the point of XHTML in Jabber. The point
would be to have a dynamically updated application that uses Jabber to
transport XHTML from server to client and vice-versa. What kind of
application? Could be a game, a whiteboard, a collaborative editing
program, a website with real-time content feeds, or something that even
imaginative people like Jeremie haven't dreamed of yet.

Jabber is much more than instant messaging.
