[JDEV] JABBER_JAVA client developers ...applet size too big

hello all..

i developed a jabber client using jabber extensible API for java.
It has the features of both groupchat and private chat.
One major problem i have come across is the size of applet.
Size of my code is 30 Kb and the jabber classes put in a jar file is 
280 kb .combined it gives 310kb which makes downloading of applet 
really irritating and almost impossible..
can any one suggest a good idea...
