Using the existing jabber:x:oob XML namespace, we would pass the IP address and a special message that would be recognized by voice-capable clients. Then the client would pass this information on to an existing conferencing utility. Someone could easily do this for NetMeeting or some such program.
Sorry for answering so lately.
I'm on vacation and (at this moment) in a web-cafe
First: thanx for the Flowers :-)
Second: I don't really care if we use an existing program as a 'plugin' to Jabber, or
implement the voicetransport directly into the client. A standard plugin architecture (vor other aplications aswell ) however would be cooool indeed.
But i personly don't like the idea of using Netmeeting:
- It's not free (not really a problem)
- It's from Micros*** (just personal dislike)
- It's not available for linux!!! (deadly i think ;-)
Tell me what you think about this.
