[JDEV] Is there a getting started FAQ ?

I'm new to Jabber, but have the jabber server installed and running on a Red 
Hat Linux 6.1. I've also installed the Cabbar client and now have some 
newbie-type configuration and operation questions.

I looked around the jabber.org site, but was unable to find a FAQ for 
questions like:

o  How do I configure the cabbar client to connect to a specific jabber 
server hostname and port ?

o  How do I register as a new user to the Jabber server ?

o  Are there some command line tools to "ping" the health of the jabber 
server ?

Any help would be appreciated ;-)
