[JDEV] Internet Explorer/Windows Integration

If anyone can make a sample that sits in the toolbar (like the quick launch
buttons) I'd be happy to hear it - I've tried several examples and a few
hours of hackery to no avail getting these working.
I was hoping to actually put a jabber client there. Haven't really thought
of an internet browser bar (but then again I'm not a big fan of browser
integration / side bars - too many small things tacked onto a big box)

Subject: [JDEV] Internet Explorer/Windows Integration
I was wondering if anyone was exploring the option of writing a Jabber
client using IE/Windows integration? This would be using the Explorer Bar
features of IE 4.x and 5.x (like Alexa does and the History/Search/etc boxes
that ship with IE), the toolbar bands (like the IE Radio Bar feature or the
Yahoo! Companion), and the desk bands (like the Quick Launch bar or the
toolbar added by ZoneAlarm). It is all very similar in purpose to the
Mozilla integration work but a very different platform.
See this MS site for details on each :

If anyone is pursuing this, I'd be interested in possibly assisting or if it
has not been proposed, suggest projects to begin work on. I can see easily
leveraging the JabberCOM development as the bands are COM objects
themselves.
