I don't know about the current 0.7-devel plans, but in kruft-etherx I've
been looking at moving the config.x information into a set of info/query
requests. Remote-administrations combined with not having to restart.
The current implementation of etherx and jabbertransport (at least as
config.x is concerned) can't support reloading of the config tables without
restarting. It's a matter of resetting the routing information (which
doesn't need a restart) but also of resending configuration information to a
transport mid-stream.
