[JDEV] Fwd: MESSAGING PRO WANTED

Regardless of their IM intentions, the fact remains that they sent out spam.
I just took a look at their corporate website, and in particular, I took a
look at their AUP:

Policy on SPAM

1. E-Mail. Users may not send unsolicited (i.e., not explicitly requested by
the recipient) e-mail messages, whether or not the practice causes
complaints from recipients, including, without limitation, bulk commercial
advertising [...]

Users may not use the Globix Network to:
[...]
engage in mailbombing (sending large quantities of unwanted or unsolicited
e-mail to individual e-mail accounts or copies of a single message to many
e-mail accounts);

Hmm. Looks like they violated their own AUP. <grin/>

I suggest that anyone who received a copy of this email reply to it, citing
their own AUP and informing them that this kind of behavior isn't tolerated.
I know this runs counter to the usual "don't reply to spam" advice, but in
this situation, where they already know that your email address is valid and
there is a real name on the other end, it might be interesting...
