---------------------------------------------------------
Step 1: download the latest versions of the libjabber, etherx, and
jabber-server RPMs from http://lm.lcs.mit.edu/~cananian/Jabber.
If you want to play with a client, grab the latest versions of the libjnix
and cabbar RPMs while you're at it.

Step 2: Install the RPMs. Log on as root, and then use
  rpm -Uvh <rpm package name>
to install each individual package. Install them in the following order:
  libjabber (first)
  etherx
  jabber-server
(and if you want a client to play with)
  libjnix
  cabbar

Step 3: Start the Jabber server. As root, type
  etherxd
at the prompt. You're done.

Step 4: Start a client. As yourself, type
  cabbar
at the prompt. Fun for all ages.
---------------------------------------------------

The web-team should probably html this up and put it on the jabber.org
site somewhere.
