  The status packet can be extended with the use of additional tags using a 
custom namespace.  Aka, <mynewtag xmlns="jabber:mycustomnamespace>.  I BELIEVE 
this is what is being spoken about in the current protocol documentation when 
it talks about the <x> tag..
