[JDEV] Jabber Client feature question: scripting

I was waiting for someone to mention Guile. As wonderful as this particular
implementation of Scheme is, in my opinion Scheme is the _wrong_ language to
use for Jabber. They just weren't designed with the same purposes in mind.
Scheme being much more mathematically inclined.
You won't hear me making a suggestion for Javascript or Java either. Both
are to heavy.
We need something in widespread use. We don't want people to learn a new
language when they want to modify the client. However, the language must
also have support for wherever we port our client. So far means C, Java, and
TCL/Tk. With those requirements, and as much as I don't like it, Guile,
Javascript/Java, or a ANSI C like language are our only choices...
Scott.
